USA Funds Life Skills Can Help Students With Job Searches
Whether they’re graduating and looking to start their careers or on the hunt for summer employment, your students can get assistance with their job searches from USA Funds® Life Skills®.
USA Funds Life Skills is an online financial literacy and student success program. The program equips schools to help students develop basic life management skills so they graduate on time and with a minimum amount of debt.
  • USA Funds Life Skills lesson “301 Now That I Am About to Graduate, How Do I Find a Job?” teaches students how to maximize the effectiveness of their job search and the components of a strong employment package. Exercises and resources in the course emphasize how to create a cover letter and résumé that effectively highlight personal and professional attributes.
  • The activities in lesson “302 How Do I Prepare for a Job Interview?” focus on pre-interview planning, what to expect during the interview, the types of questions to be prepared to answer, and what to do following the interview.
  • Lesson “303 How Do I Establish Career Goals?” teaches students how to establish and work toward reaching their career goals, with activities that address researching career choices and career planning.
  • To teach students about the deductions and taxes taken out of their pay, offer lesson “304 Where Does My Paycheck Go?” Information and calculators help students determine their take-home pay, student loan repayment amounts, and what they’ll have left to spend.
Other USA Funds Life Skills courses address the topics of financial aid and paying for college, setting goals, academic success, balancing school and personal life, credit and money management, and preparing for graduation and life after college.
