Whether they’re graduating and looking to start their careers or on the hunt for summer employment, your students can get assistance with their job searches from USA Funds® Life Skills®.
USA Funds Life Skills is an online financial literacy and student success program. The program equips schools to help students develop basic life management skills so they graduate on time and with a minimum amount of debt.
- USA Funds Life Skills course “301 Now That I Am About to Graduate, How Do I Find a Job?” teaches students how to maximize the effectiveness of their job search by leveraging their online presence in a positive way, with emphasis on how to create a cover letter and résumé that effectively highlight personal and professional attributes.
- The activities in course “302 How Do I Prepare for a Job Interview?” focus on pre-interview planning, what to expect during the interview, the types of questions to be prepared to answer, and what to do following the interview.
- Course “303 How Do I Establish Career Goals?” teaches students how to establish and work toward reaching their career goals, with activities that address identifying what success means to them, researching career choices, and career planning.
- To teach students about the deductions and taxes taken out of their pay, course “304 Where Does My Paycheck Go?” offers information and calculators to help students determine their take-home pay and what they’ll have left to spend.
Other USA Funds Life Skills courses address the topics of financial aid and paying for college, setting goals, academic success, balancing school and personal life, credit and money management, and preparing for life after college. The program received a gold medal in the Brandon Hall Group 2013 Excellence in Learning Awards Program.
