Program will help campus administrators enhance student recruitment and retention

USA Funds, Noel-Levitz Award Enrollment-Management Scholarships

INDIANAPOLIS — USA Funds®, the nation's leading education-loan guarantor, and Noel-Levitz, the nation's leading higher-education-consulting firm, have announced the recipients of scholarships to help finance graduate studies in enrollment management.

Funded by USA Funds, the scholarships assist students who wish to pursue an online graduate-studies program offered by the University of Florida's Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations in cooperation with the university's Division of Continuing Education and Noel-Levitz, a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in student recruitment, financial aid, student retention, market research, publications and Web development.

Scholarships of up to $10,000 each have been awarded to the following 10 individuals:

  • Desiree Gonzalez, financial-aid officer, Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas.

  • Emlyn N. Hamlin, assistant to the vice president for student affairs, New Jersey City University, Jersey City, N.J.

  • Clifton W. Henry, assistant director of enrollment services, Texas College, Tyler, Texas.

  • Tanya G. Hughes, director of admissions and student financial services, Odessa College, Odessa, Texas.

  • Lonnie R. Morris Jr., director of admissions and recruitment, LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis, Tenn.

  • Michelle Mueller, director of enrollment services, St. Clair County Community College, Port Huron, Mich.

  • William E. Nowlin, dean of enrollment management and registrar, Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Okla.

  • Mayra Rosario, marketing and recruitment coordinator, Universidad del Este, Carolina, Puerto Rico.

  • Michael L. Rowland, director of admissions and recruitment, The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Columbus, Ohio.

  • Shelley Viall, registrar, Stone Child College, Box Elder, Mont.

The USA Funds/Noel-Levitz scholarship program gives priority consideration to enrollment-management employees of institutions where members of ethnic minorities constitute a significant percentage of the student population.
