Awards recognize 100 graduating high-school seniors as USA Funds Scholars
USA Funds awards $150,000 in scholarships
INDIANAPOLIS — USA Funds®, the nation's leading education-loan guarantor, announces the award of scholarships totaling $150,000 to 100 graduating seniors from high schools in communities in which USA Funds has offices. Each of the USA Funds Scholars will receive $1,500 one-time scholarships for postsecondary studies. The students were selected by staff at their high schools based on the students' academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities or community service, exemplary personal character and financial need.
"In keeping with our nonprofit mission, these scholarships will assist deserving students in communities in which USA Funds' staff live and work," said Carl C. Dalstrom, USA Funds president and CEO. "In addition to this community scholarship program, we will announce the recipients of our multimillion dollar national scholarship program later this summer."
The following students, listed by their state of residence and the high school that they attend, are 2004 USA Funds Scholars:
