Devitt, Guzman join governing board of nation’s leading education-loan guarantor

USA Funds elects two members to board of trustees

INDIANAPOLIS — USA Funds^®, the nation’s leading education-loan guarantor, has announced the election of two new members to its board of trustees. Joining USA Funds’ governing board are the following new trustees:

Blake E. Devitt is a certified public accountant and retired senior audit partner for the public accounting and auditing firm of Ernst & Young. Devitt serves on USA Funds’ investment and finance committee. He previously was employed at E&Y for 33 years in a variety of roles. Devitt also serves on the board of directors of Baxter International Inc., a global health-sciences company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Vivianna Guzman is executive vice president and chief financial officer of the American Management Association, an educational organization specializing in management development. She is a member of USA Funds’ audit committee. Guzman has an extensive background in financial services and public accounting. She previously served as vice president of finance, North America Consumer Business, at Citibank; chief financial officer of First City Industries Inc., a boutique merchant bank; and with the accounting firm KPMG in practices in Latin America and the United States. Guzman also serves as a trustee and chairman of the audit committee of the Rockhurst University Continuing Education Center. She holds a graduate degree in business administration from the University of Costa Rica.

Devitt and Guzman join the following trustees on the USA Funds board:

• Carl C. Dalstrom, president and CEO of USA Funds.
• Bobby Fong, president of Butler University.
• Marshall C. Grigsby, president and CEO of Grigsby & Associates LLC.
• Norman Lefstein, professor of law and dean emeritus of the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis.
• Ilene H. Nagel, leader, higher-education practice, Russell Reynolds Associates.
• William R. Neale, chairman of the USA Funds board of trustees and partner, Krieg DeVault LLP.
• Ernest J. Newborn II, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of USI Holdings Corporation.
• Edward R. Schmidt, of counsel, Krieg DeVault LLP.
