Discuss the reference verification process:

• At the time that the loan application is certified, a financial-aid staff member will send a letter to all references notifying them that the borrower has listed the individual as a reference on the loan applications and Supplemental Data Sheet.
• If the financial-aid staff is unable to verify the references, they should contact the student to get additional references with correct addresses. A financial-aid staff member will then attempt to verify each reference at the address that is provided.
