Director of Financial Aid, Harding University

Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, a master’s degree in administration and a Doctor of Education in institutional management from Pepperdine University. He has 11 years of experience in financial aid and is a frequent presenter at regional and national financial-aid conferences, focusing on the use of technology in the financial-aid office. He currently services on NASFAA's Technology Initiatives task force.

Jon passionately believes in taking a proactive approach to default prevention. He believes schools have the moral obligation to balance the message of “access to education,” with education about how to manage that debt. “Proactively educating students about money management not only reduces student loan defaults, but also contributes towards a school's mission by producing happier, more successful alumni,” says Jon.
