Student-Integration Variables

Integration variables describe what happens to the student after arriving on campus.

Student-integration data that most campuses can obtain from existing sources include:

  • Residence status.
  • Predicted GPA or high-school GPA.
  • End-of-term grades.
  • Affiliations.
  • Credit hours attempted.
  • Credit hours completed.
  • Commuter/Resident status.
  • Intended major.
  • Residence-hall assignment.
  • Enrollment in freshman-success course.
  • Financial-aid information.

These data are the most plentiful, but sometimes the most challenging to collect because they reside all over the campus. Nonetheless, there are enormous opportunities for your campus to collect and analyze these data over the course of the first term, first year and the remainder of the student's educational experience.
