USA Funds Life SkillsUSA Funds® Life Skills® is a flexible educational program that will equip postsecondary institutions to teach their students to manage their time and money wisely while they are on campus and after graduation. The program helps students understand basic strategies for managing their finances and for completing their degree work in a timely manner and supports efforts by financial-aid professionals to be good stewards of their institutions’ education-loan-default rates. USA Funds Life Skills also supports institutions’ student-retention initiatives.

USA Funds Life Skills for undergraduate students
Five independent, yet interrelated sessions allow schools to present information in a single seminar or as in a series of workshops. Each module includes an instructor training manual, a student skills book, presentation slides, a video and an interactive CD-ROM with student skill-building activities. The five modules include:

  • Module 1: Get a Grip on Your Finances — Smart Spending for Students.
  • Module 2: Seek out Financial Aid — Funding Resources and Financial Obligations.
  • Module 3: Work Hard but Smart — How to Be Successful in School and Graduate on Time.
  • Module 4: Take Control of Your Future — Finishing School and Repaying Your Loans.
  • Module 5: Now That You Are About to Graduate — Taking Control of Your Life.

USA Funds Life Skills for graduate and professional students
To address the special personal-finance challenges faced by graduate and professional students, USA Funds has enhanced the program. Modules currently available include:

  • Module 6: Embrace New Academic Challenges — Drafting Your Professional Plan.
  • Module 7: Connect as a Couple — Confronting Relationship Challenges Together. 
  • Module 8: Take Stock — Devising a Realistic Financial Plan. 
  • Module 9: Live Like a Student — Managing Your Funds.

USA Funds Life Skills minimodules for graduate and professional students offer abbreviated training in a CD-ROM. Minimodules currently available include:
