Borrower Notification of Reissued Disbursements

For loans issued under the USA Funds® guarantee, schools are required to notify the borrower if loan funds are being reissued after the student’s last date of eligible attendance, and to obtain the borrower’s confirmation that the loan funds still are necessary.

Notification is needed to:

  • Ensure that borrowers and students are notified of the loan obligation.
  • Confirm with the borrower that funds still are necessary.

This change aligns the reissued-disbursement policies with requirements for other late disbursements that the school may request.
