USA Funds Offers Constitution Day Resources

USA Funds® offers a new online feature that links to resources to help postsecondary institutions comply with a federal requirement for providing an educational program on the U.S. Constitution.

Legislation enacted by the U.S. Congress in 2005 requires educational institutions that receive federal funds to hold an educational program about the Constitution on Sept. 17 for the students served by the school. When Sept. 17 falls on a weekend, as it does in 2006, guidance from the U.S. Department of Education permits educational institutions to hold the required Constitution Day program either on the week preceding or the week following Sept. 17.

USA Funds’ Constitution Day Resources page offers links to information for developing a Constitution Day education program in the following formats:

  • DVD, CD and videocassettes.
  • Print publications.
  • Web-based.

In addition, to help schools generate ideas for the required education program, USA Funds offers links to previous or planned Constitution Day observances at select postsecondary institutions.
