USA Funds Enhances Philanthropy Section of Web Site
USA Funds® announces the redesign of “Organizations Supporting Higher Education, the philanthropy section of USA Funds’ Web site. The Web site now is more user-friendly and offers more resources for those seeking information about supporting access to higher education.
The following information is among that featured on the enhanced site:
- Details about projects that USA Funds has supported to promote higher-education preparation, access and success.
- Links to organizations that provide need-based scholarships for higher education.
- Information about USA Funds’ early-awareness program, USA Funds Unlock the Future®.
- Background on the importance of increasing private-sector support for need-based financial aid.
“Our revised Web site emphasizes USA Funds’ commitment to philanthropic initiatives,” says Henry Fernandez, USA Funds executive director of scholarships, outreach and philanthropy. “The site offers resources for organizations that want to do more to enhance access to higher education.”
The “Organizations Supporting Higher Education” section also features a convenient online-grant application. Qualified organizations may use this online application to submit requests for support from USA Funds for projects that enhance postsecondary-education preparedness, access and success. The online grant application is part of a USA Funds initiative to simplify and consolidate its grants-management and application processes.
In general, USA Funds awards grants to national and community-based nonprofit organizations whose scholarships and programs encourage opportunities for students to enter postsecondary institutions. USA Funds in fiscal 2006 awarded $16.6 million in grants, scholarships and other financial support to initiatives that enhance postsecondary-education preparedness, access and success.
