2007 Poverty Guidelines Released

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has issued the latest poverty guidelines, effective for the 2007 calendar year. The 2007 poverty-guideline figure for a family of two is $13,690 for the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia. In Alaska, the figure is $17,120, and, in Hawaii, the figure is $15,750. The new figures affect Question 4B in Section Two of the Economic Hardship Deferment Request form. Lenders now should use this newly revised form for borrowers requesting economic-hardship deferment. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the new form and the poverty guidelines.
