Policy Frequently Asked Question: Documentation for Total and Permanent Disability Claims

I am filing a claim on which the borrower indicates she’s totally and permanently disabled. The borrower has loans guaranteed by two different guarantors. To which guarantor must I send the original, borrower-signed loan discharge application? Or, do I need to get the borrower to submit two original discharge applications?

Although a lender is required to obtain and retain the original, “wet signature” loan discharge application from the borrower, the lender is not required to include that original document in the claim file. A lender may retain the original document and file with USA Funds the claim with a legilble copy of the loan discharge application.
