Take Advantage of OpenNet’s School Message Center to Communicate with Borrowers
OpenNet offers the School Message Center as a way for schools to display messages to their students. When activated, this message displays on the Borrower Activity Center. The School Message Center is a self-service feature for all school-customers using OpenNet Web Loan Delivery.
Viewing customized messages
Schools can create a customized message to appear on the borrower’s main menu. A different message for each borrower tab within OpenNet allows the school to address borrowers at different stages in the loan process. The message will apply to all borrowers and may be incorporated on each of the following tabs:
- Start a Loan allows the borrower to initiate a loan application. If your school has a borrower-initiated process, and the borrower has no loans currently in process, the borrower will first arrive at this page.
- All My Loans allows a borrower to view recent loan history.
- Loans in Process appears if a borrower has initiated a loan application and saved it for completion at a later time, or if the school has initiated a loan request that needs to be completed by the borrower.
For borrowers with “No Loans in Process” schools have the option to display either a standard or customized message.
If you choose not to set up a customized message for your school, no message box will appear on the borrower’s main menu page.
Setting up messages
Only the school’s OpenNet administrator has the access rights to create and activate the School Message Center standard or customized messages. The following steps will guide you through the process:
- Navigate to the School Message Center page by clicking the Set Up School Message link from the Administration button on the OpenNet Main Menu page.
- Enter the text for your school’s customized message in the field under each appropriate loan-stage tab. There is a limit of 350 characters for each of the customized school messages.
- Click the Enable Message check box for the appropriate tab.
- Click the Submit button.
