USA Funds University Spring Workshops Begin April 7

USA Funds UniversityUSA Funds®’ Financial Aid Workshops will kick off the spring 2009 series in Houston on April 7. Sixty workshops are planned across the nation this spring to help keep schools informed about changes in federal policy, cohort default rates and other key financial aid issues.

Attend a workshop near you to engage with your colleagues, learn about these changes, and hear about new debt management services that can help you better serve your students. Workshops begin at 8 a.m. and adjourn at 12:30 p.m.

Highlights of the training sessions include:

  • Review the latest guidance related to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
  • Learn how cohort default rates are calculated and what you can do now to improve cohort default rates in the future.
  • Get helpful tips for resolving conflicting information, identifying its sources and working with other areas of the institution to resolve information conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Explore the extensive debt management resources USA Funds offers to assist with student loan management and default prevention efforts.
