Changes to OpenNet Web Loan Delivery Offer Schools, Borrowers More Options and Information
Enhancements to the OpenNet loan-delivery system, effective Feb. 17, 2007, will allow schools to specify local print options. In addition, borrowers will have more information available when they begin the online-application process for Federal Stafford loans.
Cover sheets optional in School Prom Note/School Certification printing In the Web Loan Delivery local print options, OpenNet school-users will have the option to print a loan’s promissory note or school-certification form without cover sheets — saving schools paper and money.
Borrower Activity Center Federal Stafford-loan text changes OpenNet will offer instructional text on the Borrower Activity Center “Start a Loan” tab regarding the Federal Stafford-loan borrower-initiated loan-process flow. The revised text will encourage borrowers to choose the correct loan program when beginning the loan-application process.

The online Help feature also will provide updated text directing Graduate PLUS-loan borrowers to select a Stafford loan before selecting a Graduate PLUS loan
The enhancements to borrower instructions will help borrowers to understand the process without taking the extra step of contacting their schools for clarification.
