Brochures Highlight Expanded Higher-Education Tax Benefits

To help students and their parents take advantage of expanded federal income-tax benefits for higher-education expenses, USA Funds® offers the free brochure "Higher-Education Tax Benefits — Expanded Taxpayer Savings." The publication advises families that paid higher-education expenses during 2003 to consider whether they qualify for expanded deductions and credits when they file their federal income-tax returns. It also summarizes the tax benefits, including the student-loan-interest deduction, Hope and Lifetime Learning credits and the deduction for higher-education expenses.

A limited supply of a smaller version of the publication is available to fit into the standard envelope for the 1098-T form. Schools should order this size only if they plan to enclose the tax benefits brochure with the 1098-T form.

Order quantities of the brochures on the USA Funds Web site.
