NCHELP Invites Feedback From Meteor and CommonLine Users
The National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs and the Meteor Project will lead user-group sessions about the latest updates to the Meteor software and the efforts of NCHELP’s electronic-standards committee.
NCHELP and the Meteor Project will present the sessions during upcoming U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid conferences.
Session participants also will learn about Meteor’s use in debt management and exit counseling. They will hear an update on the Common Record:CommonLine loan-processing option, including information about successful implementations, and items on which the NCHELP electronic-standards committee is working with National Student Loan Data System coordinators.
Financial-aid administrators who use Meteor, as well as staff from organizations supporting Meteor, CommonLine and Common Record: CommonLine, are encouraged to attend the following sessions:
- Oct. 30, 5 p.m., Napoleon B1/C1 Room, Sheraton New Orleans. Respond by Oct. 24 if you plan to attend this session.
- Nov. 26, 5 p.m., Edward Room, Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. Respond by Nov. 20 if you plan to attend this session.
When indicating that you will be at a session, please note in your e-mail which event you plan to attend.
The Meteor Project is a collaborative student-loan-industry effort coordinated through NCHELP to retrieve and aggregate student-financial-award information for financial-aid professionals and borrowers. As part of this initiative, the Meteor Project created Meteor — an open-source, freely available software application.
USA Funds® is a supporter of the Meteor Project, and USA Funds’ Brian Allison leads promotions and publications for the Meteor advisory team.
For more information about the user-group sessions, please send e-mail to Mark Putman, NCHELP chief technology officer, or Tim Cameron, Meteor Project manager.
