USA Funds Loan Counselor Enhancements Improve Efficiency and Work Flow

Beginning April 23, USA Funds Loan Counselor^SM, USA Funds^®’ suite of online loan-counseling services, and OpenNet, one of the loan-delivery systems supported by USA Funds, will communicate and operate together more seamlessly.

USA Funds Loan Counselor and OpenNet will offer users of both products the ability to perform the following functions:

• Require entrance counseling as part of the OpenNet online Stafford loan-application process for both borrower- and school-initiated scenarios. The initial loan-application screen in OpenNet will direct borrowers to USA Funds Stafford Loan Guide^SM, as shown in the following screens.

• Navigate to USA Funds Loan Counselor reporting from OpenNet, for school-users to perform queries and to print and export reports.
• Navigate to USA Funds Loan Counselor setup from OpenNet, to adjust setup options such as:
  • Assessment questions to measure borrower understanding.
  • Customized school messages within online loan counseling.
  • Co-branding with the school logo.

Benefits
The enhancements offer the following benefits:

• Assist schools in meeting federal entrance- and exit-counseling requirements and in managing default rates.
• Offer schools the capability to access USA Funds Loan Counselor screens through OpenNet, for a more-streamlined work flow.
• Eliminate multiple sign-ons and navigational paths for borrowers using OpenNet.
