USA Funds Updates and Expands Online Training
USA Funds® University has added two new online-learning courses to help financial-aid professionals improve their skills in administering federal student aid at their schools. The new courses cover the following topics:
- FFELP Repayment Options provides an overview of the repayment options available through the Federal Family Education Loan Program. This intermediate course is designed to help financial-aid administrators assist their students in understanding the repayment options available to them. Course lessons also explain the difference between deferment and forbearance and describe the types of deferment or forbearance for which borrowers may qualify.
- Loan Proration reviews annual Stafford-loan limits for undergraduate students and explains when and how these amounts must be prorated to adhere to federal regulations. Examples and case studies help enhance understanding of Federal Stafford-loan proration regulations. Course lessons also assist in determining which loan-proration formula should be used in any given situation, and describe how to calculate prorated maximum annual loan limits.

Beginning with the loan-proration course, USA Funds began using new software to create its online course content. Although the training will appear similar to previous versions, there will be a few minor navigational changes, such as the course’s launching in a new window after training begins. Online learners always should ensure that pop-up blockers are disabled when taking USA Funds online courses.
All of the courses still provide interactive exercises, realistic case studies, and pre- and post-course assessments to measure the mastery of the information.
USA Funds University now offers 63 online courses for financial-aid and education-lending professionals. View details of each course.
