USA Funds Supports Expanded Career and Education Resource Center for Indiana
Indiana state officials have unveiled an enhanced education- and career-resource center to support students and their families from the pre-kindergarten years through postsecondary education and beyond. USA Funds® is providing support for a key component of the resource center.
The launch of Learn More Resource Center was announced during the October meeting of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Learn More Resource Center features a new, comprehensive Web site, free Helpline, resource materials in English and Spanish, and expanded outreach to give parents and school counselors the information they need to support student learning. The resource center also provides information and services directly to students, including help in exploring careers, taking rigorous coursework and selecting colleges and universities.
USA Funds provides funding to support the Helpline, which is staffed by experts who respond to questions from students and parents about education and career options.
"The Learn More Helpline is an invaluable tool for answering the special questions that students and parents have about careers and education," said Henry Fernandez, USA Funds executive director, scholarships, outreach and philanthropy. "We've worked with the staff that answers the Helpline, and they are an excellent and authoritative source of information about topics ranging from types of financial aid, to college-admissions requirements, to the best-paying careers and many other issues."
The Learn More Resource Center builds on the work of the Indiana Career and Postsecondary Advancement Center. Last year, ICPAC distributed more than 218,000 informational pieces, recorded more than 46 million hits to its Web site and fielded more than 30,000 questions through its Helpline.
