Federal Agencies Offer Details of New FFELP Liquidity Programs

The U.S. departments of education and treasury have published details of programs designed to ensure funds are available through the Federal Family Education Loan Program through the 2009-2010 academic year.

The federal agencies are replicating for the 2009-2010 academic year the highly successful loan purchase and participation programs that ensured access to FFELP loans for the current academic year. In addition, the federal agencies are providing liquidity support to Asset Backed Commercial Paper conduits to provide longer-term financing for FFELP loans.
