USA Funds Connection How-To: Managing Content on the Home Page
Customization options allow users to personalize the USA Funds Connection® Web portal. The Content Editor Web part provides users the option to display personalized text, images and hyperlinks on the USA Funds Connection home page.
USA Funds Connection is a customized portal that serves as the gateway to Web-based information, resources and applications.
To set up the Content Editor Web part on the USA Funds Connection home page, follow these steps:
- Select “Personalize My Page” and then “Edit Personal Page” in the upper left navigation.
- Select “Add a Web Part” in the middle or right column of the page.
- Under the “Miscellaneous” heading, select the “Content Editor Web Part” box.
- Click “Add.”
- In the “Content Editor Web Part,” click “open the tool pane.”

- Click “Rich Text Editor” in the upper right navigation.

- Enter in the HTML Editor Web Page Dialog box the text to be displayed.
- To add an image, click the Insert Image icon in the header of the HTML Editor Web Page Dialog box and add the image URL in the “Selected Image” field.
Note: USA Funds Connection can display only images that are imported from a URL address. The image size may affect the width of the Web part. To capture the URL for an image:
- Right-click on the image.
- Select Properties.
- Highlight the entire URL address, including the http://. You may need to scroll down to select the entire address.
- Click Ctrl+C to copy. To paste the URL into the “Selected Image” field, click Ctrl+V.
- To add a hyperlink, highlight the text you wish to link, click the Insert Hyperlink icon in the header of the HTML Editor Web Page Dialog box, and add the URL in the “Selected URL” field.
Note: Follow the instructions in the previous step to copy and paste the URL address.
- Click “OK” to accept the text, image and hyperlink in the Content Editor screen.
- Click “OK” to accept the modified Web part.

- Select “Exit Edit Mode” in the upper right corner of the page.
You can move Web parts within the page by clicking and dragging the Web part to the desired location while in Edit Mode.
You can remove customized items on the home page at any time by selecting the “Reset My Page” option within the “Personalize My Page” drop-down. Any Web parts that have been moved, modified or added will be removed and the home page will be reset to the original settings.
Managing content is another way to customize USA Funds Connection to suit your preferences. Other customization options include adding Web parts and RSS feeds.
