Walks to Raise Funds for Scholarships

Scholarship America, the nation's largest nonprofit, private-sector scholarship and educational-support organization, once again is teaming with Easy Spirit to host the 2004 Easy Spirit Freedom Walk for Scholarship America, a series of 5-kilometer walks to be held in nine cities across the nation. The Easy Spirit Freedom Walk for Scholarship America is a grassroots effort to promote educational access by raising scholarship funds, both locally and nationally.

Nine walks are planned this year, at the following locations:

  • Seattle — Sept. 25.
  • Minneapolis — Oct. 2.
  • Des Moines, Iowa — Oct. 3.
  • Indianapolis — Oct. 9.
  • Washington, D.C. — Oct. 10.
  • New York — Oct. 16.
  • Wakefield, Mass. — Oct. 17.
  • Chicago — Oct. 23.
  • Los Angeles — Oct. 30.

USA Funds® is a Platinum Sponsor for the Freedom Walk in Indianapolis and supports other Scholarship America programs such as Dollars for Scholars, ScholarShops and National Scholarship Month.

Scholarship America and USA Funds encourage schools, lenders and corporations to get involved with the walk in their areas by forming teams to raise funds for scholarships and educational-support programs. For more information about how to organize a team or volunteer, visit the Web site for the 2004 Easy Spirit Freedom Walk for Scholarship America.
