Going2college.org’s New Design Makes College Planning Easier
The redesigned going2college.org Web site provides college and career planning tools to students and families throughout the country and features an improved look, better navigation and more information.
The site contains general information about career planning resources, guidelines for students planning to attend college, and the federal and state financial aid available, as well as the following:
- Career opportunities and educational requirements.
- College resource centers in the eight states — Arizona, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, and Wyoming — that USA Funds® serves as the designated guarantor of federal student loans.
- College information and financial aid awareness events.
- Strategies for saving for college.
- Assistance for low-income, and first-generation college students through programs including Upward Bound, Talent Search, GEAR UP and Project Grad.
The National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs and Mapping Your Future worked with guarantors to develop going2college.org as a resource for students, families, guidance counselors, postsecondary institutions and community organizations as part of the College Access Initiative. The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 requires guarantors and student loan participants to provide college access information via the College Access Initiative.
As a member of NCHELP and a participant in Mapping Your Future, USA Funds participated in the initiative to develop going2college.org and provided information on the site for each of its eight designated states.
