U.S. Department of Education Approves Loan-Forgiveness, Loan-Discharge Forms

The U.S. Department of Education has released two Dear Colleague letters that announce approval of loan-forgiveness and loan-discharge forms. GEN-05-11 announces the approval of the Child Care Provider Loan Forgiveness Application for renewal borrowers applying for this benefit. The letter also introduces the Child Care Provider Loan Forgiveness Forbearance Form and provides guidance on the implementation of these revised forms. GEN-05-12 announces the approval of revised School Closure, False Certification of Ability to Benefit, False Certification (Disqualifying Status), and Unauthorized Signature/Unauthorized Payment loan-discharge applications and provides guidance on the implementation of these revised forms.
