Krisann Pearce Joins USA Funds Staff
USA Funds® has appointed Krisann Pearce as vice president, congressional relations. In her new capacity, Pearce will advise federal policy-makers of the important value that guarantors like USA Funds provide to advance federal higher education policy.
Pearce has extensive experience on Capitol Hill, knowledge of the student loan program and guarantor issues, as well as a strong background in education. She previously has provided support to the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce as deputy director of education and human resource policy and as a professional staff member. She also previously served the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources as assistant education counsel.
In addition, Krisann has represented guarantors as director of government relations and associate counsel for the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs. She also has experience as a classroom teacher. Most recently, she has advised clients of the Washington, D.C., law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld on education law and the development and promotion of new education initiatives. Pearce earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Kansas, and she received her law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.
