Financial-Aid Administrators Can Help Shape Meteor Software Enhancements
Financial-aid administrators will have two opportunities to provide direct input to members of the Meteor Project team as it begins development of the next release of Meteor software.
USA Funds®, in cooperation with the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs’ Meteor Project team, announces that the team will conduct a usability study of the Meteor software at two fall conferences.
The team will conduct the studies at the U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid conferences in Orlando, Fla., and Las Vegas. The time, date and location of each session are as follows:
- 4:30 p.m. Oct. 30, Timor Searoom, Royal Pacific Resort, Orlando.
- 4:30 p.m. Nov. 28, Champagne 2 Room, Paris Las Vegas, Las Vegas.
The Meteor Project is a collaborative student-loan-industry effort coordinated through NCHELP to retrieve and aggregate student-financial-award information for financial-aid professionals and borrowers. To achieve this goal, the Meteor Project created an open-source, freely available software application. An audible PowerPoint presentation providing a Meteor overview, and an interactive demonstration, are available for viewing.
For additional information, send an e-mail to Brian Allison, director of technology initiatives for USA Funds and Meteor Project steering committee member, or to Tim Cameron, Meteor Project manager.
