In Memory of Reginald T. Cureton

Reginald T. Cureton, director of financial aid at Morgan State University in Baltimore, died Feb. 19. He was one of the original members of the USA Funds® Default-Prevention Council and had served as chairman of the Council since January 2002. As a member of the council, Cureton helped to shape USA Funds' financial-literacy program Life SkillsSM; its new early-awareness program, Unlock the Future; and many other projects designed to help financial-aid professionals and their students manage education debt and reduce loan defaults.

"Reggie's enthusiasm and good-natured humor were infectious," said E. Thomas Billard, who directs USA Funds' default-prevention initiative. "Reggie was a champion of higher-education access and practices that promote student success on campus and following graduation. The many contributions he made to his profession will continue to benefit financial-aid administrators and students for years to come."
