Reminder: Use New Consolidation Application Oct. 1

USA Fund® ’ policy staff reminds lenders that they must provide only the new version of the Federal Consolidation Loan Application and Promissory Note to borrowers beginning Oct. 1. No updated addendum to the form is available at this time, so lenders do not need to provide an addendum with the updated application.

The National Council of Higher Education Loan Program’s forms subcommittee and the U.S. Department of Education are working to finalize an updated version of the form’s addendum.

Lenders still may process any consolidation applications they receive from borrowers on or after Oct. 1 that were completed using the previous version of the form.

Access the new form on the USA Funds Web site using Adobe Reader.
