USA Funds Provides Preview of NASFAA-Conference Plans

USA Funds and the 2007 NASFAA ConferenceDuring the July 8-11, 2007, conference of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators in Washington, D.C., USA Funds® will highlight the ways that it helps financial-aid professionals “build futures” for students.

Demonstrations, testimonials
USA Funds exhibit booth will focus on the products and services that USA Funds offers to help financial-aid administrators and students succeed, as well as testimonials from students and USA Funds customers. The new USA Funds Loan CounselorSM suite of customized online loan-counseling services will be among the highlighted products.

The booth also will feature demonstrations of the following products:

  • USA Funds Connection®, a Web portal that links USA Funds school-customers to Web-based products and services, information resources and personal-productivity tools for the financial-aid office.
  • USA Funds Debt Manager®, a Web-based tool that helps financial-aid administrators connect with student-loan borrowers and prevent student-loan default.
  • USA Funds Life Skills®, a financial-literacy program that gives financial-aid administrators the tools to teach students to manage their time and money wisely on campus and after graduation.
  • MEDLOANS Online Loan Portfolio, an exit-counseling tool for USA Funds’ medical-school customers and their students.

USA Funds’ booth, Number 216, will show student and customer testimonials about USA Funds’ service and about the USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships® program.

2Futuro
The USA Funds-supported program 2Futuro will have its own booth, Number 908. An education-finance and outreach program for Hispanic students and their parents, 2Futuro is a joint initiative of USA Funds and Sallie Mae.

Disaster-relief fund
Additionally, USA Funds’ Kyle Malone will be part of the July 9 presentation, “What Financial Aid Administrators Should Know in the Face of a Disaster: Lessons Learned About Quick Responder Private Scholarships in the Wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.” Malone, USA Funds access and outreach manager, will share information about the Disaster Relief Fund for Postsecondary Education Students. The session will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Through the Disaster Relief Fund for Postsecondary Education Students, USA Funds distributed $1.8 million to help low-income students who have additional financial need to continue their college education because of hurricanes in 2005. Since establishing it in 2004, USA Funds has committed $2.3 million through the fund.
