USA Funds Electronic Products, Services Comply With HERA Changes

As of June 26, 2006, all electronic products supported by USA Funds® are updated to comply with July 1 Federal Family Education Loan Program changes stemming from the Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005. Among the changes reflected in the updated electronic products are:

  • The authority for graduate and professional students to take out Federal PLUS loans.
  • A lower origination fee on Federal Stafford loans.
  • A required federal default fee on Federal Stafford and PLUS loans.

The electronic products and services included in the update are as follows:

  • Stafford Loan Guide.
  • MEDLOANS Online Loan Portfolio.
  • OpenNet Web Loan Delivery.
  • OpenNet File Management Service.
  • Guarantor-servicing system.
  • WhizKid.
