System to Speed AmeriCorps Forbearances Now Available

The Corporation for National and Community Service announced that educational and financial institutions now can register and create accounts on the new AmeriCorps Online Payment System for the National Service Trust. Among the system’s benefits is a quicker forbearance-certification process for borrowers in AmeriCorps programs; the system permits those borrowers to request forbearances on their education loans online as soon as they become members.
