USA Funds Names Customer-Relations Manager for California

Ron LeeAs part of its ongoing efforts to ensure the best service available in the student-loan program, USA Funds® is expanding its customer-relations team.

Ron Lee has joined USA Funds as customer-relations manager for California. Working with the USA Funds Services account representatives in the state, Lee is responsible for determining customer needs and monitoring customer satisfaction with the education-loan service that USA Funds delivers to California postsecondary institutions.

Lee also will convene the new USA Funds California Advisory Council of financial-aid and education-lending professionals and other interested parties. The council will provide USA Funds with guidance on the desired levels of education-loan service and provide advice regarding new and enhanced products and services that USA Funds will offer.

“Ron is well-known in California for delivering excellent customer service and sharing his expert knowledge of the student-loan program,” said David Root, USA Funds director, customer relations. “We are delighted to add his experience and expertise to better serve our customers.”

Although the primary contacts for USA Funds’ school-customers are their designated USA Funds Services representatives, USA Funds’ team of customer-relations managers provides an added measure of attention to customer needs.

Lee offers 24 years of experience in financial aid, customer service and training, most recently as manager of EDFUND’s training and policy unit. He also previously served with the California Student Aid Commission in several capacities, including trainer, financial-aid analyst, and statewide coordinator for California’s outreach program, the California Student Opportunity and Access Program.

Lee is a member of the California Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, California Community Colleges Student Financial Aid Administrators Association and Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. He has served on several association committees, including training committees, and has chaired several conference programs.

Lee received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis.
