Important: To qualify for federal and state financial aid, you must file the FAFSA. To ensure priority consideration for Indiana state scholarships and grants, your FAFSA must be submitted online or postmarked by March 10.

State Residency Requirement

To qualify for in-state tuition rates, you must:

  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents over age 21 are eligible for resident student status after they have been physically present in Indiana for 12 consecutive months prior to the first day of classes.

  • Students under age 21 are eligible for resident student status if their parents or legal guardians reside in Indiana for 12 months.

  • Other general criteria may apply.

  • Graduation Requirements

    Students need to pass Indiana's Graduation Qualifying Exam to receive a high school diploma.

    If you plan to attend an Indiana college or university, you'll need to complete the Core 40 Curriculum in high school.
